KLAK TIK
is the new musical project from former 6 Day Riot member Søren Bonke. A Danish multi-instrumentalist based in London, Søren composed, performed and recorded this three-track EP single-handedly, which is no mean feat when you consider the array of instruments (banjo, mandolin, ukulele, trumpet) that help to create the Klak Tik sound. Think of him as London’s answer to Sufjan Stevens. Or a less irritating Beirut.

Of course, it’s in my best interests to say nice things about Klak Tik, so here are the opinions of a few impartial observers:

“A true testament that good music can be crafted from any bedroom by anyone, as long as there’s talent and creativity. There’s class and excellence in these songs, moments of compositional brilliance which will leave you speechless, as well as puzzled as to why this isn’t on repeat worldwide.” – Japie Stoppelenburg, NoRipcord.com

“The music of Klak Tik is layered, multi-instrumental and hypnotic – reminiscent of Beirut, DeVotchKa and Arcade Fire.” – Fast Forward Revue

Since the EP’s completion, Klak Tik has evolved into a five-piece band which will make its live debut on 21 November at Soho’s Spice of Life. More live dates are to be announced soon.
